What we collect from every visitor
Anonymous usage counts: which pages are viewed, which county is searched and which filters are used, which sites are opened, which outside links are followed, and whether an Eircode lookup found a result. Nothing is stored on your device for this, and you are not identified or followed between days. We never send what you type — not an Eircode, an address or a search phrase; only fixed choices like a county or a filter setting.
What we collect only if you accept
A recording of your visit — what you click and how the page responds — so we can see how EirPlot is used and improve it. Anything you type is hidden in the recording. This needs a small identifier stored in your browser, which is why we ask first. If you decline, nothing is recorded and everything still works the same.
Why
EirPlot is in beta. These numbers and recordings tell us which parts help people find stalled sites and which parts get in the way, so we can fix them.
Who handles it, and where
We use PostHog as our analytics processor. Data is sent to and stored in PostHog’s EU cloud in Frankfurt, Germany. We don’t sell it or use it for advertising.
How long it is kept
Recordings are kept for 30 days. Anonymous usage counts are kept for up to 12 months.
Changing your mind
Use “Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page to accept or decline recording at any time. Declining stops recording immediately and removes the identifier from your browser.
